Abstract

Objective: This study aims to assess the influence of marriage and age on the menstrual cycle among females aged 16-30 years.

Methods: A survey-based approach was employed, with 131 participants interviewed using a structured questionnaire. Participants were categorized based on marital status (married vs. single) and age group. The data were analyzed using the Chi-square test in SPSS.

Results: The analysis revealed a significant relationship (P < 0.05) between age and marital status with menstrual cycle characteristics. As age increased, menstrual cycle irregularity and the incidence of heavy bleeding also increased. Married women exhibited a higher prevalence of irregular menstrual cycles and heavy bleeding compared to single females.

Conclusion: Age and marital status significantly impact menstrual cycle characteristics. Older age and marriage are associated with increased menstrual irregularity and heavier bleeding. These findings underscore the importance of considering demographic factors when assessing menstrual health. Further research may delve into underlying mechanisms and implications for reproductive health management.
